Veritas Centre
The Veritas Child and Family Life Development Centre – or the Veritas Centre (VC) as it is better known – is one of a number of service centres affiliated with the St. Dominic’s Children’s Home; providing therapeutic and developmental services for children and youth in difficult situations, as well as for members of the family system, service providers and community.
Behavioural Wellness integrates mental health and youth development services, focusing on individual, family and community strengths; in an effort to optimize functioning and improve our clients’ quality of life.

We also engage the client-system in assessing and addressing the ‘triggers’ and risk factors that fuel the problematic behaviour, through our ‘tool-kit’ of biophsychosocial-spiritual interventions which include:

Multiple Spaces
THE VERITAS CENTRE has multiple spaces whereby varying social events, workshops and behaviour wellness sessions occur. Therefore, our residents and staff are welcome to enjoy the ambiance and comfort created while participating in programmes.
The recreational space is utilized especially when family members visit their children at the Home to spend time with them and share a meal.
The Centre is also available for rent by organizations who would like to host a function or therapeutical activities. We would like to encourage ministries within the Archdiocese of Port of Spain to visit the Veritas Centre and support our services.
The Veritas Centre works in collaboration with the St. Dominic’s Trade School and Direct Care Unit and therefore vocational programmes such as Beauty Culture and Life skills, agri-therapy are conducted in specific areas at the Centre.
